The Heartless were becoming a problem that Traverse Town could no longer have to deal with on it's own. The city was ill equipped to deal with any large scale Heartless invasion. Thus it was time for Jeff to put his brain to work. There had to be a way to protect the city from the Heartless but at the same time not risk the lives of anyone innocent. As he sat in the area he had made his own in Traverse Town, a warehouse he had modified with technology that was definitely that of science fiction, Jeff weighed his options. "It seems I will need to invent some sort of drone. Perhaps that would come in handy. No, a drone lacks the sophistication and tactical awareness of an actual human. There is no real answer to my problem." Jeff then looked at some of the gadgets he had made. If only one of them worked. Still he was working on working out the kinks on several of his defenses, because he needed to. The AM Field didn't work, and would probably never work at this rate. It was still a device he planned to complete because he didn't want to be spammed with Firagas or similar attacks. Not having MP was an advantage, but also a disadvantage because it meant he had to get more creative with his science.

A knock would come on the door. Josh had spent several days lately just patrolling and dealing with the Heartless around, by hand. Of course, his Keyblade alone wouldn't stop a full scale assault. He had heard of a young man who was dealing with some kind of technology that might be able to help...
"Hello?" He would call as he knocked. "I'm one of the keyblade wielders, I've been patrolling day... Well, whatever day is, and night for quite some time now to get rid of Heartless. I was told that you were working on something?" He would call through the door.

The door would slide on open when Joshua said he heard Jeff was working on something. Various schematics could be seen tacked to the walls while hundreds of devices could be seen strewn across the floor all of which had been dubbed miserable failures. "Sorry for the mess. Most of my inventions have become miserable failures of the worst quality. I'm in a creative slump presently. Say, would you like to perhaps be my lab assistant and help me out with some of my inventions?"

Josh would look around, noticing all the schematics and devices all around the floor. Were they working? Failures? Scraps? He didn't know. All he knew was that this guy could help. "I understand, no big" He said with a causal shrug as he looked around, seeing Jeff working on something. "Miserable failures?" He asked, blinking. Well, that wasn't good.
Lab assistant? Well, that wasn't what he had in mind. "And what exactly does a lab assistant do?"

"Well for starters if I pass out from overexhaustion, or look like I'm about to pull me out of my lab." said Jeff looking at the numerous failed inventions. It sickened him that he had so many failed inventions. Really his skills at creating technology needed to improve. Perhaps if he made some sort of drone that he could remotely control, it might come in handy. There was a good idea. "You could also perhaps retrieve materials and parts for me to build my technology out of. Most of the stuff you see is unusable unfortunately. Soon I'll be working on getting my laser rifle operational. We'll need to field test it on some Heartless. Perhaps field test a few of my explosives as well. "

He nodded a bit to the first idea. "That... Sounds easy enough" He admitted, scratching his head. He just hoped that he didn't expect him to be in the line of fire if things went wrong. He was here to help, not get killed. He would nod off a bit when he would talk about retrieving materials and parts, and field testing explosives and stuff on Heartless.
"Well, I should have expected having to play gopher, but... Hey, field testing on heartless sounds good" He said with a smirk.

"For starters it's time for the both of us to go to work. I've recently got an idea. Since we cannot be everywhere at once in Traverse Town, I came across the concept of drones. Remotely piloted mechanical entities that will be equipped with weaponry specifically made to take on the Heartless. While it is true I can materialize data, or create fire I prefer not to use those but rely on gadgets. Thus we shall commence with creation of this...." With that Jeff stretched out a schematic for a drone that was complete with a full picture. "This drone has been made to be a power house in it's own right. Weapons systems will include wrist laser as well as a mini machine gun, a couple of missiles and a tractor beam. It will also have a sword it can use should it need to melee an opponent. So, I never got your name Mr.?" Jeff paused for a moment before he resumed speaking. "We will also need to isolate the properties that make the key extremely effective against Heartless, and include those inside of my drones and weapons so as to give us a better advantage. This drone will be called the Barrage Unit, effectively named for the barrage it can unleash upon it's opponents when finished. "

The blonde would fold his arms and listen as he explained his concept for drones. Good idea, he thought. With the Heartless being all over the place, people like Josh who constantly defended Traverse Town could not be everywhere at once, and could burn out quite easily. Having drones that didn't get tired was a very good idea for keeping the town safe. He just hoped it worked...
When asked for his name, he would smirk a bit. "Josh Dragomir. Just call me Josh" He would introduce before allowing him to go back to it. "I understand" He said as he noted the features of the Barrage Unit. "Wait, isn't it only Keyblades that can take down Heartless? Or was I mistaken?"

"Precisely why we shall analyze a key-blade Joshua. Once we analyze the properties that make the key able to damage the Heartless where conventional weapons fail, science can then be used to replicate said properties into my drones. First and foremost though we must create a prototype of my drone and test it against the Heartless. If the prototype is destroyed, we will then continue to make modifications until it can hold it's own, and test each modification against the Heartless."
Jeff paused for a moment. Sure it would be a lot of work, but in the end would be worth it.
"Eventually we shall even create an android with an artificially made key-blade that we shall create using SCIENCE!" The word science was exclaimed joyfully by Jeff as he hatched the plan. "Of course, before we can run we must walk. What I propose we do is get to work on the drone immediately. We'll need a lot of wiring and a highly durable metal in large quantities. What else will we need? Oh yes. Some sort of computer system to use as the 'brain' of the droid so it doesn't turn on anyone it sees."

He would nod a bit as his keyblade would appear in his hand. "I understand" He said. "I know my keyblade can't be destroyed no matter what you do to it so... If mine can be used to help us deal with these Heartless, let's get started" He said to his explanation.
He blinked as he would exclaim "SCIENCE!"..... This guy seemed a bit... Out of sorts. Whacky. Aye. "Uh.... Huh" He said, nodding a bit. The science-y stuff sounded fine and dandy, despite the outburst. "And where can we get the materials"

"Unfortunately that is where you come in. You shall acquire the materials and components we need, and then the drone shall be built. Once it is built it shall be tested. Once it is tested it shall be upgraded. Once it is upgraded, it shall be completed. Once it is completed we shall began mass production of the drones so that they can defend Traverse Town." Jeff paused for a moment. Where they would get the materials was indeed a worthy question because he had no clue where they could get the components they needed to build his robots. The computer systems alone needed to be more advanced than anything that existed presently, probably.

"Of course it's where I come in" He said, rolling his eyes. "Alright, and where am I supposed to GET these?" He would ask, raising an eyebrow. "I mean, I wanna help, man, but... I'm not really fluent in where to get the materials. You'd be better off looking yourself there. I run around killing heartless, not looking for components for robots" He explained. "Not a complaint of course, I'm just saying that I'm not... Skilled, in that catagory"
